Across Bio® Syphilis Antibody Detection Kit

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. Serologically, tests are performed to detect antibodies in the blood. VDRL/RPR tests that become positive 4-8 weeks after primary syphilis are the most commonly used tests for screening and diagnosis. However, false positives and negatives may occur in these tests. Treponema pallidum gel agglunitation is defined as the detection of anti-Treponema antibodies present in serum samples. These antibodies react with chimeric antigenic proteins of treponema, which are attached to sheep erythrocytes for agglutination.
Results against four different epitopes are seen in one microtube. It can be used easily and safely in almost all laboratories, including primary care laboratories. Thanks to its ease of standardization, it contributes to the reduction of application errors and is suitable for automation.
