Across Bio® Rose Bengal
Brucella diagnosis is made by isolation of microorganisms in blood or stool or by titration of specific antibodies in patient serum.
Reagent because of its formulation in acid buffer, it is reactive with both IgG and IgM antibodies. It is very useful for diagnosing chronic individuals presenting high levels of IgG antibodies that are difficult to detect with the reference tube method.
Rose Bengal is a slide agglutination test used for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of anti-Brucella antibodies in human and animal serum. Stained bacterial suspension becomes agglutinated when mixed with samples containing specific IgG or IgM antibodies.
